What do I love about Karen Marie Moning's Highlanders? They're honorable, smart, stubborn, caring, sexy, loving, and strong. The heroines are all from modern day, and they each end up going back in time, so....that gives me hope that this could really happen. It could, right?
Here are the books in the order Ms. Moning suggests reading them, with description from her website in italics:

Kennedy Beaumont loves her bartending job, even if her spirited nature sometimes gets her in trouble. Like threatening to hose down one of Pendragon’s co-owners. When it comes to Tristan, she could use a good hosing down herself—maybe it’ll help her stop casting him as the star of her wickedest dreams. Since he goes out of his way to avoid her, it ought to be easy to put him out of her head—until he reluctantly offers her a ride home.
Gargoyle shape-shifter Tristan Callaghan hasn’t had time for anything other than recovering the mystical dagger that was used to permanently lock his brother in a prison of stone. The cat inside him should have stopped craving Kennedy’s touch long ago, but now that she’s sitting next to him in his car, his very human need for her is sharper than ever.
The distraction is costly. In a split second, Kennedy finds herself thrust into a dangerous, millennia-old hunt for Excalibur. A hunt that marks her for death—and leaves Tristan with a painful choice—sacrifice his family, his quest…or the one woman meant to be his.

Their Love is their Destiny. . .With his auburn hair and lean build,
Kierland Scott looks more man than Lycan. But his wolf instincts are aroused by the gray-eyed Morgan Cantrell. Not because of her beauty, but because of her long-ago betrayal, a fateful choice that made their love impossible.
Now, however, the two Watchmen must team up, leaving the placid Lake Country
for the forests of Scandinavia. To rescue Kierland's brother, they must track a
vampire—and use their combined shape-shifting sensitivities in a battle that will take
them beyond death. As the two learn to seek together, they begin to understand the
history that has driven them apart. But they will have to overcome death itself, if their
shared passion is to have a chance.
This was my first Rhyannon Byrd novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The storyline was very easily picked up, and although this is part of a series, it can stand alone. I didn't feel like I missed anything in the series, considering this is the first book of the series I read. Morgan and Kierland were very strong characters and worked perfectly together not only in the bed, but in their battles to save Kierland's brother from evil. I found myself getting lost in the storyline of this book. I felt like "a fly on the wall" as I watched this romance turn from pure lust to love and commitment. This book has it all, action, lust, romance, and death. I would highly recommend this if you love paranormal romances. I'm very anxious to try more of Rhyannon Byrd's work!

Two men. One woman. When love is involved, complications up the stakes.
Dali Bowman has a secret desire, one that she’s already witnessed her closest friends discover for themselves. When Rex Adkins and Gage Hall come into her life, she likes what she sees, and is willing to take the chance. On her terms.
Rex and Gage have been friends since high school, as close as brothers in almost all aspects of their lives, from the secret they both share to the craving they have to find a woman that will complete them as a family. When Rex and Gage meet Dali, the attraction is instant. The confusion is their wolves’ muted interest. Are they wrong? Is Dali the one woman for them?
When they take away Dali’s freedom of choice, she runs, slamming the door on them and their advances. Can they salvage their chance or has their impetuous behavior cost them more than either could imagine?

Mary is a part-time Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy author living in Indianapolis with her loving husband, witty daughter, and ridiculous cat. The paranormal world has always been an interest of her's. She grew up watching Sci-Fi and Horror shows. As a teenager--many, many years ago--she read Anne Rice and wrote to pen-pals (stamps were cheap and computers weren't in every household). Though she dropped the pen for a while, her love for the paranormal continued. She started writing full length novels a few years ago and hasn't stopped. Not only does she love stories about vampires, she enjoys books with demons, werewolves, shapeshifters, dragons, and just about any supernatural creature.

contemporary m/m romance
coming from Loose Id on April 26.
John Ford packed up his life a year ago and moved from LA to small Mercury, North Carolina after the death of his long-term partner. He’s been living in a kind of suspended animation, fixing up the old house he bought there, reclusive and alone. Until the day Connor Meecham appears.
Conn Meecham has returned home, only to find it isn’t his anymore. Someone else owns his mother’s house now. But Conn needs that house to find the man he left behind more than eight years ago—before the drugs, before prison, before his life derailed. Lonely, desperate, lost, Conn finds in John a kindred soul.
Mercury is a dying town. But John sets out to change that when he learns what it means to Conn. Through home improvements, sex, old friends, sex, misunderstandings, sex, and homemade cherry pie, John and Conn may finally discover that where they are now can be heaven on earth if they want it to be.
