Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between
By: J.A. Saare
One bad corpse can ruin your whole day. No one knows that better than Rhiannon Murphy. She’s left behind the flash and sass of Miami for the no-nonsense groove of New York City, eager for a clean slate and a fresh start. A bartender by trade, a loud mouth by choice, and a necromancer by chance; she’s managed to keep her nifty talent hidden from those around her – until now.
The deliciously good-looking vampire Disco knows her secret, and when he strolls into her bar to solicit help investigating the mysterious disappearances of his kind from the city, she discovers he’s not the kind of person that appreciates the significance of the word no.
But in a world where vampires peddle their blood as the latest and greatest drug of choice, it’s only a matter of time before the next big thing hits the market. Someone or something is killing vampires to steal their hearts, and unlike Rhiannon, this isn’t their first stroll around the undead block.
Get lost in this riviting story of Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between, thats exactly what i did! I hve had many of my fellow blogging and twitter peeps chatting about this book, but I just hadn't had the chance to read it myself. So when the ladies of KLB announce they were putting together a book tour I was ALL over it!
Lets start with J.A. Saare's take on Vampires. To me I found her creation of vampires fascinating. She follows alot of the basic guide lines of your traditional vampire lore, but with spunk. Now I don't want to give away any details, but there were some interesting traits J.A. gave her vampires that made them wonderfully unique!
The story line of Dead, Undead, or Somwhere in Between was a very refreashing new read. It didnt seam anything like the same ol same ol vamire tales that are already out there. I liked the little differences J.A. brought that makes the story stand out. for example, all through out the story we get Rhiannon's Laws. What an interseting way to bring a characters thoughts into the story. There were also parts that made me want to laugh, parts that made me want to cry, and yes parts that oh so deffinently made me cringe. In my opinion, to have a good story it needs to hit all the emotions throughout.
Now with the characters we get a full range of personalities, and everything in between. We get Rhiannon who is the scared past, but walks through life being the tough girl, so noone will ever get to close. Then we get Disco *dreamy sigh* All i can say ladies is, hello?!?! he's a sexy vampire! Nuff said! ;0) There are a few secondary characters I really can't wait to hear more about and that is Goose and Paine.
Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between....... Seriously guys, if you haven't read this, or picked it up yet, it is a MUST to add to your TBR pile! You honestly won't regret it!
