Black Friday Shopping - Yay , Nay , I'd rather find couch lint with tweezers.......
Nov 23, 2010
Well it's that time of year again. The wild and crazy BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING *insert eerie music here* is back! What I want to know is do YOU shop on Black Friday? Do you actually get up and the butt crack of dawn, and try to push through all the millions of people to get to those few special items? Or do you shop online for black Friday specials?
A few years back my mother, sister and I attempted to do our first (and now last) black Friday shopping. The day started out great, not too early cause lets face it, I am sooooooo not a morning person. But headed out , going to a few stores here and there. we never went for the BIG sales because usually there was like 5 of that items and they were gone before the roosters were even awake. We pretty much just looked for some of the other sale items. Which I will admit there were a few. But as we were leaving one of the stores , we were standing next to my moms car loading stuff in, when a lady walked up crammed her shopping cart ( yes I said CRAMMED ) into the side of my moms car then proceeded to turn and walk to her car as if she did nothing wrong. I was seriously like WTF lady!?!? *insert many , many, MANY choice words here* She actually looked at us like she had no clue what she had done worng. I was like " Does this LOOK like a cart return to you?!?! I think it looks like a car!!! *
Now I am not a violent person by any means. I am more of the laid back, why can't we all be friends kinda gal. yes I know this is where you all want to "insert the gaging sound" right. LOL but really I am really easy to get along with. But OMG what the hell is wrong with people! So from then on we have all decided we will NOT EVER do that again. Some people have just ruined that day completely. Some people become pushy, some become rude. People really get their butts run over!
Its supposed to be a fun day. At least that's what I think about it. A way to spend the day with friends , family, and have fun shopping for some great sales. So I have come to the conclusion I am going to try Black shopping via the Internet this year. So my questions to you are:
Do you Shop black Friday online?
If so what sites do you shop at?
Do you think you get as good of sales on-line as you do in stores?
Thank you for letting me rant, and to pick your brain!
Start Christmas early!

Kristin~ Thank you! I will def check that out! I had no idea places online did it early!!! I am so ready to virtual shop now!!!
HeHeHe
I used to go out in the madness *shudder* but now I plan my attacks online. Like Kristian said, a lot of the sales started well over 2 weeks ago.
I have a part time job at the mall, so I'll be the one on the other side of the counter wishing my manager had brought us booze for lunch. :)
LMAO Jason!!!! I too have worked the other side of the counter on Black Friday. And yes...booze is a tremendous pick-me-up on that day! I actually had a woman throw a basketball at my head because her son saw it...ummm he was 10 and standing right there...where the hell was I gonna hide it??? As for the car incident Jojo...thanks for reminding me!! Yup, no longer care to do the butt crack of dawn thing...shopping online is a "good thing" as Martha would say. Love ya sis!!! Jojo's mommy :D
I stick with online sales. And love it. If I go out it is AFTER the sales are done and I scavenge for the leftovers. Yah, not pretty but I get a chuckle seeing the frazzled sales people.
I refuse to go shopping on Black Friday. I stay home.
I may order on line but I do that just about every day anyway ;).
I absolutely will not shop on Black Friday, no thanks! I don't have to do much shopping anyway, and I'd rather do it online if possible. If not, I wait until later to venture into the stores.
I'm a die hard Black Friday fan. Unfoetunately I am not participating in Black Friday because money is really tight this year. Hopefully it will get better before Christmas.
I wasn't organized enough this year to do any shopping on Black Friday... next year though. I would love to be at this time next year saying "whew... I am pretty much done shopping!" :)
Sheila...check out www.bfads.net starting in october. Sign up with email and they'll also let you know about pre black friday sales and online sales. You can look right at the adscans plus they have lists that you can click and add to a shopping list that will then print out by store.
I just double check on Thanksgiving that the sales were accurate (usually 98%, with a couple extras thrown in...probably based on geographical location).
I have only 4 more people to buy for.
OOops...just realized that Kristin suggested bfads as well.
