Blog Bash Day 24 with Bronwyn Green + Giveaway

Sep 2, 2011

First off, HAPPY BLOGAVERSARY, JOJO!!!

Today, I have all kinds of things to share – hotties (you can never have too many) one of my favorite (easy) recipes and a question to get the convo rolling!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Bronwyn Green and I write erotic romance. I’ve got books with Ellora’s Cave, Total-e-Bound and Resplendence Publishing. I’m also an editor. But my most important job is ‘momming’ my two boys, spending time with my hubby and taking care of a house full of rescue cats. We’ve currently got five.

My favorite time of the year is coming and I’m about to retire the grill and bust out the crock pot. I love being able to start meals in the morning and have them ready when the fam gets home in the evening – all with very little work on my part.

One of their favorite things to eat is Chicken Stroganoff. It’s super easy and really tasty. Here’s what you need.

Chicken Stroganoff

~ Boneless, skinless chicken breasts (we use four since there are four of us)
~16 ounces of sour cream
~1 can of Campbell’s Roasted Garlic Cream of Mushroom soup
~1 packet of French Onion soup mix
~1 large can of mushroom pieces
~1 package of egg noodles

Mix sour cream, soup, soup mix and mushrooms together. Spread over raw chicken breasts. Set crockpot on low. Let cook for six-ish hours until meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Spoon over cooked eggs noodles. Serve with veggie of your choice (I recommend acorn squash) and salad.

See? Easy peasy!

Okay, on to the good stuff. It’s no secret that I LOVE Supernatural. And while I adore both Sam and Dean, I’m most definitely a “Dean Girl”. I could look at and listen to Jensen Ackles all freaking day long. Let’s all enjoy, shall we? ;)

I was asked recently who I’d chose to star in a movie of my new short story, Maiden’s Grail, which is part of the awesome new antho called Seducing the Myth. It wasn’t hard to choose. Maiden’s Grail is an erotic Arthurian legend and it wasn’t hard at all to picture Aidan Turner on a horse wearing chainmail. Yum!

Now that we’re all sufficiently recovered from the eye candy, I’ve got a question I want to ask all of you. Actually, it’s kind of a two-parter.

First off, what’s your favorite genre to read and what would you like to see more of?
I’ll get the ball rolling by answering – my favorite genre is definitely paranormal romance. And I’d like to see more variety in terms of paranormals characters. Now, I’m not talking werehamsters or anything, but I’m thinking more witches/magic users, more faeries, more unique mythical creatures. Okay – what about you guys? What would you like to see and what are your faves?

Hi Bronwyn -

I have enjoyed your work. And now it looks like I'm going to enjoy your recipe :). I love Stroganoff buthave never made the chicken variety. Must do so :).

I read mostly PNR and I can't get enough of it.

Thank you.

Hey you!

Great post and yummy photos - two of my hot favourites in there! And now I need to go and re-read Maiden's Grail with the divine Aidan in mind. *drools*

Paranormals are my favorite too. I love all types of characters, vamps, shifters, demons, angels, witches, fae, etc. I love that the authors can stretch their imaginations, they can create the worlds and characters they want, each authors books are unique.

JoAnna September 2, 2011 at 4:20 PM

Hi Bronwyn!
Ok I wonder how the chicken stroganoff would taste with cream of chicken instead of cream of mushroom. Hubby hates mushroom and onions but I can usually get away with the onion soup mix if it has been in a crockpot all day. :)
For your questions, I love Paranormal romance. And I love shifters, you can't do wrong for me with shifters. I think a bunny shifter would be funny (I like humor in my books as well). I read a book that mentioned a bunny shifter but was not a main character. Would love to see how a bunny shifter as a main character would work.

Mmm. Pretty pretty. :)

I'm an action-adventure girl, but I love my werebeasties with a fiery burning passion.

Donna September 2, 2011 at 4:46 PM

I would like to see more books that combine genres instead of falling into just one. For example, I love erotic, paranormal romance, m/m and BDSM genres, so a really erotic, m/m paranormal would be cool, or something with several types of paranormals, say maybe shifters and aliens in a highly erotic situation. Okay, I suppose you can see where my mind is going. Please don't call the doc, I'm already medicated. This is the improved version. :)

Hugs,
Donna

I read a lot of historicals and paranormals and would like to see more historical-paranormals. Imagine seeing shapeshifters back in the day. That would be very interesting.

@ Victoria - Thanks! I hope you enjoy the Stroganoff! If your family doesn't like it, you can always blame me. ;)

@ Lucy - LOL. He's all I see in my head when that story comes to mind.

@ June - There's just something about a good paranormal to get away from reality for a few!

@ JoAnna - Hey you :) I bet the cream cheese would be fabulous in there. Mmmmm - I think I'll try that next time! Plain Greek yogurt is really tasty too, but I learned the hard way that you can't cook it all day like you can sour cream. You have to stir it in right before stirring or it separates and gets icky.

A bunny shifter could be really fun - I'm going to have to ponder that idea! :D

@ BA - there's just something about the wild animal lurking beneath the surface...mmmm shivery!

@ Donna - I love blended genres! Dakota Rebel has an AWESOME new erotic romance, MM, paranormal. It's called Blood of the Fallen! I loved it - you can tell her I sent you - lol. ;)

@ Na - I think you're a straight up genius! I LOVE that idea! *plot bunnies are running amuck!*

@ dpbussie - Thanks for stopping by - glad you enjoyed the pics. :)

@ JenB - I live to serve. :D And thanks for commenting! :D

That recipe sounds so good.I have a lot of favorite genres.Paranormal Romance,UF,YA Paranormal..but lately I've been reading more of Erotic Romance.Within that genre I'd like to see more f/f/m or f/m/f books.

Denise Z September 3, 2011 at 12:18 AM

I am a diehard UF fan and love all things paranormal - romance, witches, shifters, and vamps. I just want to read a good book that has a story that will feed my hunger for a fresh new world with characters I want to be my friends :) Thank you for sharing the fun and I am definitely copying the recipe - I think my son will love it :)

I read mainly PNR and love series where everyone is represented. Thea Harrison has one as does Ilona Andrews which show shifters, fae and magic users all interacting.

I like your recipe for Chicken Stroganoff - will be adding it to my recipe book :D

As to favourite genre I'm into so many it's hard to say which one is favourite. I guess Paranormal Romance and Fantasies are top of my list. I certainly agree with you that they need more diversity though, as I am getting fed up with the same old, same old :(

Great post! I'm definitely going to try that recipe!

Hi Bronwyn,

I love reading paranormal romances and romantic suspense stories. Best combo is a book with a bit of both.

Thanks for the great recipe, I love trying new things.

Michelle Bledsoe September 3, 2011 at 12:58 PM

Thanks for the recipe. It sounds really good.
I happen to read most genres. I go more for an author or story line than genre I guess. My collection of books has a wide variety of genres.
Thank you for the giveaway.

UF is my favorite genre right now. I would like lots of action and more use of secondary characters to make stories richer.

@ jfort357 - Thanks so much for entering!

@ Gwen - Thanks honey - you know I couldn't let a chance to post Jensen pics pass me by. ;)

@ elaing8 - You know, those are a couple subgenres I don't see much of in the marketplace.

@ Kenzie - I hope your fam likes it! I'm enjoying quite a bit of steampunk, myself.

@ Jolene and Family - good luck and thanks for stopping by!

@ Marianne - Have I got a surprise for you...

@ Denise Z - I hope your son likes it! I know exactly what you mean about wanting to meet characters you'd have as friends. :)

@ kissablesweet1 - Thanks for entering! :)

@ lindseye - Thanks for the tips on those authors - I'll definitely be checking them out!

@ ilona - I hope you enjoy the recipe! I know just what you mean about same old-same old.

@ ruby95660 - I hope you enjoy it and good luck!

@ Tore - thanks for stopping by and consider yourself entered!

@ Cathy - I love paranormal and suspense together, too! Hope you like the recipe!

@ Michelle Bledsoe - I've got several 'must-read' authors who write across different genres, too. In those cases I buy for the voice more than the genre.

Bronwyn Green September 3, 2011 at 2:20 PM

@ Anne - I really enjoy UF, too. I love the world building that you typically encounter in that genre.

msmjb65 September 3, 2011 at 10:13 PM

Thanks for eyefull of eye candy. I think Aidan is an insanely sexy man!
I read all types of romance - paranormal, probably my fav, especially of the erotica variety. I also like the Alpha male Navy SEAL-type romance, as well.
I'd love to win an eBook!
