Blog Bash Day 19 with Donna Grant + Giveaway
Aug 25, 2011
I’m so glad to be here to help JoJo celebrate her second anniversary!
So, to get the party started, how about a hot hunk? This is Michael Fassbender.
He’s not hugely known, but he’s certainly played some memorable parts. Most recently he was Eric Lehnsherr/Magneto in X-Men First Class.
If you’re a lover of historical movies, then you might have seen him play Mr. Rochester in the newest remake of Jane Eyre, as Centurion Quintus Dias in Centurion, or even as Stelios in 300 (all some of my favs!).
I’m not sure what it is about him that draws me. Maybe it’s his eyes or the characters he plays. Maybe it’s his smile, but whatever it is, I’m becoming a huge fan.
And after looking at those pictures, who in here is thirsty? How about a recipe for my favorite drink – a French Martini.
I’m not really a martini drinker, but a few years ago I was with some friends in San Francisco and one ordered a French martini and got me to taste it. I’ve been hooked ever since.
It’s a simple recipe, but in order for it to taste the absolute best, you need these ingredients:
French martini
~ Ciroc Vodka (Ciroc is made from grapes instead of potatoes – it’s a clean, fresh tasting vodka)
~ Chamboard (a raspberry liqueur)
~ Pineapple juice
Just three ingredients is all you need. It takes equal parts of all three. To make one glass, take 1.5 ounces (or a typical shot) of each of the tree ingredients. Mix them together in a shaker and pour.
Voila! You have yourself a French Martini!
*note that some places actually put an orange flavored vodka in the mix, which changes the flavor all together. Make sure the vodka isn’t flavored.
So, while your ogling Michael Fassbender and sipping your French Martini, let me tell you a little about my upcoming release SHADOW HIGHLANDER (www.donnagrant.com/shadowhighlander), the fifth book in my Dark Sword series…
***************************
The Dark Sword series captures all the power, passion, and magic of Scotland’s legendary warriors—sworn to fight for victory, in battle and in love…
He can feel her magic
Sent on a dangerous mission into the shadowy world of the Druids, Galen must find a powerful ancient relic to defeat the enemies of MacLeod Castle. But what he discovers is far more powerful—and far more dangerous. A Druid lass whose beauty is as spellbinding as any magic..
Can he free her soul?
Reaghan is the most enchanting woman Galen has even met—and the most enigmatic. She alone is immune to his mind-reading gifts. He alone makes her feel safe and secure. But Reaghan holds a secret power deep inside her that could destroy them both. And if Galen hopes to hold this captivating woman in his arms every night, he must defeat the darkness that draws closer around her every day...

jason [at] jasonkivela [cot] com
It's how male they are. I don't think there's anything more male ;).
vsloboda(at)gmail(dot)com
I think it's because they are fierce and willing to protect at any cost. Plus they do look hot in kilts.
truebloodfan AT rock.com
Well you have to have some nice legs to wear those kilts and the huge "swords" is also a big draw. :)

The brrrrrrrr!!! And the horse. NO, the sword! *snickers*

lol. Y'all are too funny!
they are definately all male. they are that alpha male, sexy, looks great in a kilt or whatever or nothing. they need to be that strong man, protector of family and love. you are a new author for me and have heard good things about your book and would love to win and read this.
thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win. great interview and love love this cover. am a cover lover and this is a good one.

Chrisbails - Thank you. I've been pretty fortunate when it comes to my covers. :)
Well first, just look at them. But they are strong alpha types that just draw you in.
Highlanders are pretty up there for alpah candidates. Even more than that I like that they are warriors of heart. What is theirs, they protect fiercely, their allegiance is to their loved ones, and those they love they place above all. They are loyal and natural leaders.
Donna, your highlanders sounds great :)

I'll never forget the first time i read a book about highlanders. Wow raw power, alpha male hot and sexy as sin and well the kilts right? They are usually tall well built mean you know how to kick as but know how to treat a woman too.
Love em can you tell? lol

There is just something about a highlander, they are usual have strong alpha characteristics, take care of what they consider their own and if anyone messes with their woman you better watch out. Love that about them!
mharper1023@gmail.com
Highlanders are real men. They are secure enough to wear "man skirts"(LOL) and look hot in them. They fight and fight hard for what they believe in. They know women will swoon when they walk by(all to see what is worn under the kilts).
Highlanders are the heroes we all want to be.
koonie2888 at yahoo dot com
Highlanders are generally written as complete alpha males. They are couragous, brave, protective, caring, determination, etc. They will do do whatever it takes to claim their mates and protect others.

The accent ;-)
justforswag(AT)yahoo(DOT)com
They represent strong, brave and manly and I love their stories. They all show strong lines and their arms...welll their arms...well what can I say..the arms can circle me any time. ha ha susan Leech garysue@dejaxxd.com
I love the rugged, kilt wearing, sexy Highlanders and those accents, oh my. Any man that can look sexy and confident wearing something that looks like a skirt, has got to be hot, LOL.
Their strength, agility, loyalty, oh and they sure look mighty fine in a kilt!
hehe:)
natashajennex(at)gmail.com
What draws people to Highlanders? The total warrior package. These men are not small. They fight for what they believe in and to protect what they believe in: their history, their being, their customes and lore, their women. They don't sit idly but go out there, do what needs to be done.
Highlanders were men. I think we all want MEN not boys. Any man that can wear and kilt and make it look right is well...right!
jepebATverizonDOTnet
Y'all nailed exactly what a Highlander is. Love to read these. :)
Hi
I have to ay KILTS! They look so HOT in them!

They are honest, love and protect their family. The kilt and accent don't hurt either.

marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Gotta give it to a guy who dares to wear a skirt. In public!
& make the rest of us try to get a glimpse of what's under that skirt.....
Love the brogue too
Well theres the big muscley arms, and the fierceness, and the hot accent, not to metion the Kilts. Mmmhhmmm I want a Highlander all to myself! XD Great giveaway!!
ruby95660[at]yahoo[dot]com
I think highlanders are the ultimate alpha male. They are strong and virile and not afraid to be passionate. That's why I like them.
angeldream3[AT]gmail[DOT]com
What draws me to highlanders, well I think its their strong personalities for one- their fierce loyalty to the ones they love, oh yea can't forget the kilts :).
vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
Hi Donna,
I love your Highlanders. Lucan is still my favorite. :)Probably because he was my first. lol
If you look up the definition of a MAN,you'll see Highlander next to it. Their kilts, no matter what is or isn't under them, their Brogue and their fierce loyalty. Your covers are all amazing Donna, Thanks for this opportunity to win.

Those sexy knees in their kilts, and of course a broadsword strapped to their back puts it over the top
KILTS all the way!!!;)
The whole maleness and strength helps too but nothing can decrease their sexiness.

They are soooo manly but can be so cute :D
Ok, I really don't know, but I confess that I read every Highlander book that I could :D
Thanks for the international chance!
kasumigogo[at]gmail[dot]com
The kilts are a plus... their general hard edge/alpha male personalities appeal to me though. the fact that are rugged and confident yet caring and loyal.
Have loved books 1-3 in this series and can't wait to read the others.
pams00 @ aol.com
