Followed by a short interview and giveaway!
Here is C. Margery Kempe
reading some from
Dragger Ella
C. Margery Kempe is a writer of erotic romance distinguished by its humour, intelligence and fearless sensual pleasures. Her stories range from contemporary thrillers to medieval era fairy tales. An English professor by day, she also writes on medieval literature, film, creative writing and New Media, as well as humor, drama, mainstream and genre fiction under her real name. She's a weekly blogger at Nights of Passion on Sundays and will soon join the Pop Culture Divas.
About you:
JJBC - Do you have any hobbies?
CMK - Oh, it's all about the research for me ;-)Travel is my favourite hobby, but it's getting to
be an expensive one.
JJBC - What do you like to read?
CMK -I love a lot of paranormal romance andurban fantasy. I adore my pals like Inara LaVey
AKA Dana Fredsti and Isabel Roman, who's
actually two writers, but never mind. I like books
that make me laugh, too.
JJBC - Who are some of your favorite authors?
CMK -Incredibly influential on me was Anaïs Nin,one of the most sensual writers ever to live -- and
did she ever live! She wrote about her lovers and
her sex life in detail but with a passionate idealism.
I adore Georgette Heyer, Charlotte Brontë and
Jane Austen, some of the real matriarchs of the
romance genre (before it was even a genre).
JJBC - If you can meet any author in person
dead or alive, who would it be and why him/her?
CMK -Christopher Marlowe maybe, though Icould probably manage to get both him and
Shakespeare together for a drink. I could warn
Kit away from Deptford, but I doubt he'd listen
to me. Marlowe would have eclipsed Will if he'd
lived, I'm sure of it.
AAD:
JJBC - What part of AAD are you most looking forward to?
CMK -Talking to readers! Writing is so solitary.
I look forward to chatting with folks and finding
out what stories excite them and what they're
reading now.
JJBC - Have you ever been to AAD before?
If so what was your favorite part?
CMK -I loved AAD! See? I'm wearing my tiara in the
video! :-) I had a great time at all the parties and
yakking away on the panels. Great topics!
JJBC - Are you on any panels? if so can you tell us
which ones to look for you on?
CMK -I'm on a bunch which all look like they'll be way fun:
Paranormal Historical, Erotic Historical, Care and Feeding
of Your Blog, Humor in Romance and -- not surprisingly --
the panel on managing Multiple Pen Names.
Your Writing:
JJBC - How did you first get into writing?
Has it always been your dream?
CMK -I started writing romance only a coupleof years ago. When Ravenous Romance launched
then end of 2008, I was among the first writers
they published. I've learned a lot since then and
have worked with a number of publishers as I
figure out the path of my new career.
JJBC - What genre do you write?
CMK -I write erotic romance, but it rangesfrom contemporary thrillers like Chastity Flame
to medieval fantasties like Spinning Gold.
The fairy tale stories are a lot of fun:
Love Me Like a Reptile and Dragger Ella are
both set in the contemporary world, but the
next one goes back to the medieval.
JJBC - Can you tell us how a typical writing
day for you is?
CMK -On a teaching day, I get up and exercise(if I don't do it right away, it's not going to happen),
check Twitter while I eat breakfast, go to campus,
teach and do other tasks or go to meetings, then
head home. Sometimes I have a little tea and
read, then it's pretty much writing, break for
dinner and then write some more. In between
I hop on Facebook and Twitter to take a break.
Your Books:
JJBC - Can you share with us anything you are
currently working on?
I'm trying to wrap up the sequel to Chastity Flame so
I can get back to work on Miranda, a novel that
provides a kind of sequel to The Tempest
(talk about chutzpah, eh?).I have my next fairytale in
mind, but I have such a hectic schedule this
semester, I'm not sure when I'll get everything done.
JJBC - What has been your favorite book you have
written so far? why is this one your favorite?
I'm still very fond of Chastity Flame: it has a lot of
references to things I adore and the city of my heart,
London. The fun part of the sequel is not only featuring
some of my favourite spots in London, but also featuring
cameos by some of my fellow romance authors.

10 Hottie Follwers Thoughts:
Chastity sounds like fun!
Wraith would be my ideal paranormal lover. He shows incredible restraint when needed and is very gentle considering he's a vampire and all. Tenderness is a must.

Nice answers, Vidisha! I have to agree on the issue of trust. I think maybe all things flow from that. Maybe it's because I am very slow to trust...

Hi Diana! Thanks for stopping by. Sticking through the tough times -- oh yeah! And a gentleman, that's a good point, too. Although I have to admit there are times when I want a lover to be anything *but* a gentleman ;-)
~Who's your ideal lover?
He's strong, compassionate, smart, healthy and funny. Oh, and not bald unless he's Jean-Luc Picard.
~What qualities do they need to have?
He has to be willing to laugh at himself. he also has to be willing to pamper me when I need it and also tell me to get over myself when I need that. He needs to have good taste in most things, especially food and drink.
~What's absolutely essential?
Passion for most things in life.
Great answers, Peg! I'm struck by your inclusion of "healthy" -- something we take for granted all too often. I love the quality of being able to laugh at himself, too. That usually points to someone not being afraid to fail. Excellent!
