Plain and simple, this book ROCKED! I honestly cannot find one thing about this book that I did not like. From the characters to the story line, Laura has created a fantastic book! Page after page Laura captivates your attention sucking you further and further in!
Andrew, now Andrew was a very unique and intriguing character. He is unstoppable, and will go to the ends of the earth to help Gabriella figure out who she is, and what is going on. AN ancient soul, trying to dig up the truth, that may or may not go against everything he has ever known. I would have to say this the first book I have read that I was more curious about the female character than the male character. Now I’m not by any means down grading Andrew and all his oh so good Yumminess, but I kept wanting to know more and more about Gabriella. What she’s going through, what she’s going to go through, What does it all mean.
Gabriella I will say has major guts! With everything she has been through, the things she has seen. WOW it would take a very strong person to stay standing, especially with her first real encounter with Andrew. I would have been like “ OMG…..your……but you were just……I know…….*faint* Ya I seriously have courage envy with this girl! Throughout the entire story she grows, finds new things about herself, tremendous things, and continues to roll with the punches. I don’t think Gabriella’s characters lacks anything at all, except the truth about who she is.
The truth slowly starts to unfold and more and more of the past starts to unravel. Who can you trust? Did that actually happen? Where is the story going to go? The possibilities are endless. I cannot say enough good things about Shadow of the Sun, and Laura’s writing. She definitely knows how to tell a story and make you believe you are a part of it. And speaking of the story, Oh Wow. So many questions I have, so many things I want to know, and the direction….Gaaaaaaa. I can’t wait to read book 2! And that ending, a cliffhanger , oh yes. I loved it! Now this book didn’t have a lot of romance in it, but that didn’t take away from the story at all. But don’t fret there is a wonderful romance building throughout the story.
So I normally don’t try to comment on the covers, due to the fact that most authors have no control over what id on them. But seriously, look at that cover! Its very unique, IMO very beautiful. I’d say an excellent choice to go along with the story.
Overall, Laura all I can say is you have just gain yourself a HUGE new fan! I will definently be telling everyone I can think of about Shadow of the Sun, and your writing. And I can not wait to read more of your writing!

Gabriella’s past is a mystery, but that never stopped her from achieving her goals. As a Supernatural Specialist, and far more intelligent than anyone her age, she was always ignored by her peers. Because of the isolation she has always felt, she put her life and soul into her job. Being a Supernatural Specialist hasn’t given her the divine intervention she always longed for, until one day a shipment arrives from Italy containing three dead bodies with an uncanny ability to regenerate. Gabriella is frightened and intrigued, but not as scared as she becomes when a dark creature attacks her.
As the bodies come back to life, the plot takes an unexpected twist that you won’t see coming. The supernatural world only begins to unfold before her as angels appear, her dreams start to haunt her, and the very past she has forgotten comes back with startling clarity. Romance blooms, escape plans are made, an assassin is out to kill her, and death is only around the corner. But what is more terrifying than all of it is the fact she is the chosen one, the Illuminator, the one who will save them all.
My Thoughts

1 Hottie Follwers Thoughts:
I could not agree with this post more! I'm a huge fan of this series.
I'm a little confused about why Joseph is not mentioned (I'm joking . . . sort of. Er, can you tell that I'm TEAM JOSEPH?) You'll love Soul Stalker. It's just as amazing as Shadow of the Sun.
And the cover is STUNNING! One of the best covers I've ever seen. It really grasps the nature of the book! LOVE IT!
