Halloween Bash: Day 5 AM with Author Eliza Gayle
Oct 28, 2010
Thank you, JoJo for having me on your blog today. Halloween is absolutely one of my favorite holidays, if not my favorite. Some years I go all out and decorate inside and out and others it might be a little more subdued but we still do something special.
We’ve decorated our house many times into a complete bat cave, green glowing lights included. There is always a full graveyard out front and one of us always has a party. From full on adult costume parties that the neighborhood is invited to complete with my infamous Dead Drunk Cake and Froggy Swamp Punch to the kids costume parties where I gross them out with my disgusting (but surprisingly delicious) Kitty Litter Cake.
This year my daughter and I kicked off the season with homemade Halloween bottle cap necklaces to include zombie pin ups, zombie cupcakes, vampire cupcakes, pumpkins and TrueBlood. *clears throat* be here on Sunday *wink wink*
Midnight Margaritas, bubbling cauldrons, yummy snacks and goodie
bags that looked like witches brooms.
We also visited the corn maze at night for the extra fun and creepiness of finding our way through a fun challenge by the light of a full moon and a few flashlights. I have to say I enjoyed that a lot.
This weekend one of my daughters will be having friends over for her movie night with pizza and Halloween cookie cake made by a dear friend. Then on Sunday she’ll don her homemade vampire bride costume that she put together on her own from a wedding dress we found at a thrift store.
If all of that wasn’t enough I also run an annual Halloween blog event called The DAMM blog where authors, bloggers and readers all come together to discuss their Halloween best and dole out lots and lots of prizes.
Somehow I even managed to time my first wolf shifter book, Black Moon Rising for this month. I got really lucky on that one. Here’s the blurb to tease you.
At the rise of the Black Moon, Sierra is to be named the new Alpha of her pack. But first, she must take a wolf mate before she can claim the position. Problem is, she’s in love with two men, one of whom is strictly forbidden. Willing to live a lie, she publicly acknowledges one and keeps the other her dirty little secret.
Nolan and Marek understand Sierra’s needs. Nothing gives them more pleasure than to make her burn, body and soul. Until the pack is attacked and a temperamental stranger from the past threatens to send them spiraling apart. Now she must choose between love and duty, a decision with fatal consequences. Whoever said you could be Alpha without making the hard choices…lied.
Happy Halloween
Eliza

Here is Mine:
Poem – Werewolf
He feels the pain of flaming skin
The rage that bursts out from within
The rage that courses through his Eyes
Through which he channels all his pain
The Fur, released from ancient bonds
Tastes the Hat for which he longs
Friends, family, they all mean naught
This life is new, with danger fraught
Gaia, the Earth Mother, blesses them all
In return they answer her call
A call to brain, defeat the Wyrm
To succeed there is much to learn
Control the Love, harness the rage
The ancient force, the curse of ages
So now he Walks the rage within
This rage, once bidden, beneath his Lips.
*Eliza will be stopping by through out the day to chat.

8 Hottie Follwers Thoughts:
Hi Eliza...
You're Practical Magic party sounds like a blast! I'm probably going out dancing tomorrow night (dressed as the queen of hearts like at AAD).
Corn maze at night is definitely too creepy for me.
I have to say your kitty litter cake grossed me out too!
Have a great day, Ren!
I made that cake once - it's is awful to look at but tastes very good.
Here is my poem:
"Poem - Werewolf"
He feels the pain of biting skin
The rage that bursts out from within
The rage that courses through his fire
Through which he channels all his pain
The man, released from ancient bonds
Tastes the cat for which he longs
Freinds, family, they all mean naught
This life is new, with danger fraught
Gaia, the Earth Mother, blesses them all
In return they answer her call
A call to belly, defeat the Wyrm
To succeed there is much to learn
Control the sigh, harness the rage
The ancient force, the curse of ages
So now he scratch the rage within
This rage, once bidden, beneath his car.
Thanks, Renee! Your queen of hearts costume at AAD was incredible. That will be fun to go out in again.
I'm still laughing about the kitty litter cake being at the top of the post. I have a weird sense of humor. lol
Hi, Victoria!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who's made that cake. Very few of the kids would eat it but my DH really liked it. lol
I like to make Oreo Balls dipped in white chocolate and shaped like Ghosts. They don't scare me--I could eat the whole batch ; )

Mmm,Virginia. Those sound good. You should share the recipe.
That's great that your werewolf book comes out this month.
I was always so busy making the kids costumes that I rarely got to make any of the really great Halloween recipes that I collected for years. Now that the kids are grown and starting to give me grandchildren, maybe I can be the treat maker.
Black Moon Rising sounds like an awesome read - gotta put that on my wishlist!
Black Moon Rising sounds awesome!!!!
I just added it to my wishlist list!
This year my oldest has decided to be a Zombie, my youngest couldn't decide so we just went out and purchased a butterfly fairy costume. I have to same some of their most memorable costumes are the handmade ones. Thanks for sharing!
