Blog Bash Day 12 with Cat Johnson + Giveaway

HOTTIE of the Month
I’ve included my personal vote for hottie of the month with my post today. Anyone who knows me knows I have a thing for cowboys—especially real ones—and this guy is the real deal. Jason Wayne Hunter, the hottie pictured, is a real live bull rider. In fact during the photo shoot when this candid shot was taken, he was dealing with a fractured back from a riding injury, but you’d never know it. That’s what a love about cowboys, besides the fact they’re hot and those boots and jeans are extremely flattering, you can’t keep a good cowboy down (so to speak *wink*).

Wednesday W’s?!?
Even though it’s officially Tuesday, I chose a Wednesday W. My “W” question is this…
Would you totally change your life for love?
I’m talking about major change, like perhaps a city girl moving to the country to live on a ranch for the love of a cowboy or maybe a woman giving up her rich lifestyle for the simple life with a man who makes just enough to get by. Can love conquer all?
Maybe I’m thinking about this topic because it’s kind of what my heroine in The EX-Files has to deal with. She’s an attorney and has always gravitated toward dating a certain type of man—professional, well to do, powerful—then she finds herself not only irresistibly attracted physically to a much younger bartender, but she’s also finding she can’t stop thinking about him even when she’s on dates with other men. But it’s a little disconcerting that he’s the exact opposite of everything she always thought she wanted in a life partner.
Here’s the blurb…
THE EX-FILES
by Cat Johnson
Who needs a husband? Definitely not high-power attorney Jane Dolan. At least that’s what she tells herself right up until her thirtieth birthday, then she’s not so sure. When a co-worker shares the theory that everyone in the world has already met their soul mate by the age of thirty but most have passed them by, Jane decides to be proactive, go back and find him.
As Plane Jane—what an ex once called her—makes her way through her little black book and the men from her past searching for the Mr. Right who got away, there’s another man who makes his way into her little black panties. She can’t deny he feels oh so right. Gorgeous and much too young, Damian drips sexuality. He’s the exactly opposite of everything Jane is.
Her post-date sexual encounters with the tempting bartender are totally inappropriate and, Jane finds, completely irresistible. But her soul mate is waiting and there are still more men from her past to re-date—or are there?
Reader Advisory: Adults Only!!
FAVORITE RECIPE
Since the book takes place in a bar, where the hero mixes up chocolate martinis that one character describes as an “orgasm in a glass”, I’m going to give you my favorite recipe for the Chocolate Martini, as the Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA (where they know chocolate) serves it with the glass rimmed in chocolate syrup and cocoa powder, and with a Hershey kiss in the bottom.
CHOCOLATE MARTINI
~2 parts vodka
~1 part vanilla vodka
~1 part dark cream de cocao
Shake with ice then strain into a martini glass

18 Hottie Follwers Thoughts:
Hell yeah i would change my life for true love... I truly believe that there is that special someone for every person....
I did give up my what I thought I wanted in my life for the love of my man. Though life isn't what I thought it would be it has been a good one....*S*
Thank you Cat for the contest, and awesome bookcover!

I would be willing to make concessions, but I couldn't flat out say "yes" I'd give anything up.
Money would be a big issue for me. He can make less, but how we spend would have to be similar. My sister's boyfriend actually asked her for clothes money because his clothes didn't fit him. She told him to put them on and show her. They fit, he just didn't want to wash them. (It would kill me if an employed adult in his 40's asked me for clothes money. I'd cut out my tongue before I asked.)
I would not totally change my life for THE ONE. I think that he and I fell in love for who we are. I would definitely make compromises, but not completely change my life. I couldn't ask that of him either.
Love the pic. He is one sexy cowboy.

I totally agree, a lazy man (or a financial leech) is a deal breaker. Also I don't think I could (or would) change who I am. Like I would never become a bank robber or a murderer if I made the mistake of falling for a hot criminal, but I do think I would leave a rich asshole for a regular working man who really loved me and who I loved. And I'd probably leave my suburban NY existence for a hot as hell cowboy, though I'd likely regret it when it came time to split the firewood or whatever. LOL. He'd have to be REALLY good (at something!!) Thanks all for the comments.

It was so cool meeting Cat at AAD. I think the picture really shows her personality! What would I change for true love? Tough one. I got lucky and married someone I didn't need to change for. But, if I really clicked with someone, I would be willing to take the leap. If you don't try, you won't know for sure! Thanks for the giveaway.

I did change my life for love. I moved married got pregnant had a baby all with in 24 months. 7 yrs later he cheated on me with a relative. If I could do it all again. I would still have the baby but I wouldn't change my life for love. Now if I found true love again I would still not change my life. Once burned twice shy.
I don't know if I would change my whole life for true love, I mean would he change his whole life for me as well?

I would not change my life for love if I was content with it. If I hated my life, I would definitely change it.

Depends.. is he perfect? If so then I might change my life. It also depends on how good my life is. If I absolutely love everything about my life, I don't think I would just up and change everything for a guy. Plus, isn't he suppose to love me for me?
ruby95660[at]yahoo[dot]com
I don't think I could. I might give it a go but don't think I'd be all that happy. Might have to meet somewhere in the middle.

Years ago I did change my life for what I thought was Love...it did not work out...so it would take a miracle man for me to ever do it again...I love to read about those miracle men tho...Thank you for writing about them..lprater@modweldco.com
If it was true love, I would change my life for that. I believe everyone has a soulmate someone they were meant to be with. Please enter me in contest. I would love to read this book. Tore923@aol.com
Would definitely meet in the middle :)
Love all your books Cat, your cowboys keep your books very steamy :)
mharper1023@gmail.com
Nope...I wouldn't change my life for love. If it was true love I shouldn't have to change everything! A little give and take yeah...that is part of it but not everything!
mmafsmith at gmail dot com
easy answer..Yep :)
I could use one of those chocolate martinis right about now.
elaing8(at)netscape(dot)net
I think I would as long as changing my life didn't mean I had to change myself.
truebloodfan@rock.com
I would like to think that I could but I'm pretty stubborn. I guess it would really determine on what the change is.
