Blog Bash Day 22 with Jacquelyn Frank
Aug 30, 2011
SORRY for the delay today guys, blogger wouldn't let me post . But Its here now! ;0)
This is my man Mike Holmes. Whether he’s real or being spun that way, I’m loving the fantasy of a man in shining overalls saving people from mean, thieving S.O.B.s.
This is my man Gerard. Whether those abs are real of CGI…I don’t give a rat’s patootie. I loved him the minute I heard the pathos in his singing voice in The Phantom of the Opera. I’ve loved his smile, his eyes and his thighs…and the accent!...ever since. He’s got a great sense of humor to boot.
My Favorite Classic is
Wishes by: Jude Deveraux
Cuz it was the first romance I ever read where the heroine was chubby…and when she gets skinny things only get worse for her.
Cider Braised and Glazed Pork Roast with
Apple Cider Glazed Sauteed Apples
Makes 6 to 8 servings1 boneless pork loin roast, about 3 pounds
1 tsp dried sage
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon lard or canola oil
1 cup apple cider
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1. To prepare the pork for roasting: Tie at even intervals with 5 pieces of butcher's twine. No fancy knots are necessary, just loop the twine around the roast and tie it with a regular double knot. Adjust the oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 325 degrees. Pat the roast dry with paper towels, then sprinkle it evenly with sugar, sage, thyme, salt and pepper.
Wrap pork in plastic and chill for two hours or overnight.
Pat roast dry with paper towels again.
2. Heat the oil in a heavy, ovenproof casserole over medium-high heat until just beginning to smoke, about 3 minutes. Sear the roast fat-side down until well-browned, about 2 minutes. Using tongs, rotate roast a quarter turn and cook until well browned, another 2 minutes; repeat until roast is well browned on all four sides. Transfer the browned roast to large plate.
3. In the casserole, using the pork leavings/fat cook onion and garlic over moderate heat, stirring, for one minute. Stir together the apple cider and cider vinegar and bring the liquid to a full rolling boil, scraping up and swirling in any bits of meat or fat in the casserole. Return the roast to the casserole and, using tongs, roll it to coat with the cider glaze. Put the casserole in the oven and roast for 30 minutes. Use tongs to turn the roast over, return it to the oven and continue roasting about 30 minutes more or until the center registers 160 degrees on instant-read thermometer. (longer time for larger roast)
4. Use tongs to transfer the roast to a carving board. Using an oven mitt, put the hot casserole back on the stovetop and reduce the pan juices to about 1/3 cup. Snip the twine off the roast, cut into 1/4-inch slices, then sauce with the reduced glaze. Serve immediately.

2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 cup cold cider

or double glaze
1 cup butter
4 large tart apples - peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch thick
4 teaspoons cornstarch
1 cup cold cider
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
add ½ cup chopped walnuts and ½ cup cranberries before sautéing if desired but bump up the cider by 4 tbsps, adding the extra cider during the initial sautee

Dissolve cornstarch in water; add to skillet. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve warm.
My “W” question:
What are you? A cat person? Or a dog person?
Okay, let’s get the hawking of the wares out of the way. J
KANE a.k.a. SUPERNATURAL
KANE is coming! TODAY!!!!! Oh at last we get to glimpse into the past and find out…What happened that first Samhain night between Kane and Corrine? We get to be the proverbial fly on that wall and see just how things unfolded. After all, it was Samhain night, Kane and Corrine were Imprinted, and Kane was going to be driven to take his mate no matter what! No matter that she was comatose and near dead from being drained of energy. And knowing how noble the Demons are, how wholly offensive must this have been to Kane’s sensibilities?
What happened??
Well, you know what you have to do to find out. :P
The first man. Or, ironically enough for me he’s the last man. Last Demon standing, as it were. It took three years, but the next book in the NIGHTWALKERS series is here! Releasing Oct. 25th, 2011, ADAM: THE NIGHTWALKERS Book Six will arrive. I know, I know. It’s about time! Well, it’s the right time, really. The book was actually started right after I wrote NOAH, book five, as the dates in the story will reflect. However, at the time I was feeling pretty burned out on the NIGHTWALKER world, and the story never progressed past the first few chapters. I was in the process of being published for the first time, life was changing, and other stories were scratching at my brain begging to be free. I decided to take a little break.
Ahh. What a relief. Then I decided, you know what, I’m not going back there. Let NOAH be the end of it. I’m done. Finito! Kaput!
Enter a half a BILLION fan letters that went something like this:
PLEASE don’t let it be the end!!
What happens to Noah and Kestra? Tell me Gideon heals her and she can have a baby!
Do Damien and Syreena ever have a baby?
What about Leah and Seth? Can’t they grow up and fall in love?
Hey! Jasmine needs an HEA!And the one most people said: What about RUTH?? You have to kill the bitch!!
Well, I heard you! And while I don’t answer every last one of those questions, I take care of enough of them in ADAM to keep most of you all happy. I think. I hope. Well, if not, suck it up. :P I have plans for the future. Trust your author. Hehehe.
I wanted to tell you that, yes, I do have plans for Tristan from the Shadowdwellers to get his HEA eventually. What form and time this takes shape in is a grey area at present, but there is an intention.
I also want to take the opportunity to give you all hugs cyber hugs and thank you SO much for your devotion to this series. That has allowed it to be translated into over five foreign languages and now the entire set is in the midst of being released in audio format by Tantor Media! (The fabulous Xe Sands does our gang of men and their ladies proud!) Anyway, I have wondrous things planned for you and this world in the future. Follow my on my website, Facebook, Twitter and blog and I’ll keep you up to date on me, my books, my life, my peeves, my cats, my kid…basically all the floatsam of my life. Oh, and on Facebook we have a neat roleplaying page you ought to join. You get to watch actors play your favorite NIGHTWALKER characters, get to oogle the Hump Day Hunks on Wednesdays and a variety of other things as well. Oh, and the person who plays Ruth (cough) is sick and twisted and does a FABULOUS job, if I do say so myself. Hehehe.
Hugs and Kitties,
Jacki Frank

I enjoyed the post and I agree with you on Gerard, he's so awesome. I'm definitely a cat person, I was owned in the past by three kitties and will be again.

I tend to like cats more. I like my own dogs a lot though! And OMG!!! The first romance I EVER READ was when I was like 12 and I could never remember the name or who wrote it and I have searched threads for the premise-- It was WISHES!!!! I am SOO HAPPY I read this post! Thank you for sharing!

I have to say that I am a dog and cat person. I have both and love them alot. However, I think I have developed an allergy to cats so the one I have now will probably be my last, but I would not get rid of him for anything.

LOL, love the "fan letters" :D
About the question, I suppose that I'm a cat person, I'm not very sure because I never thought about it before.
Good luck with "Adam"! ;D
Thanks for the great post. I copied the recipe. I can hardly wait to try it!
I'm looking forward to my double dosh of Frank: Adam and Kane.
I'm a cat person, though I like dogs. I'm an apartment dweller and cats are a much better fit. I currently have 3 boys and they all get along well (whew!).
I am so glad you have more books in the nightwalker series. It just felt unfinsihed and I agree Ruth needing killing.

hahaha... "suck it up". you crack me up. I am both a cat and dog lover. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs, but I must admit I play favorites with my gray kitty, Cliffie. Don't tell the other 4. I love your books and can not wait for Adam. I'm in the middle of listening to the audiobook "drink of me" and loving it. Thanks for the recipe. My hub loves pork roast and it usually comes out dry. This sounds like just the trick.
I used to be totally just a dog person until we got our cat, now I can't imagine a day without her.
vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
I am both. Yes, I'm not ashamed to say I could not choose between the two. That would be disloyal.

I enjoyed this post! I need to get my hands on this series!
Thank you so much for sharing today. I loved the apple recipe and Wishes will always be one of my favorite books. I am interested Jacki Frank's series, I have not read it yet and just love a good series. I hopped over to her site and have signed up to follow and thank you for the links. I love cats and dogs, but am horribly allergic to cats - so I would have to be a dog person :) Thanks for the fun.

Loved your post, very informative. Absolutely have to try that recipe. Yummy.... and that goes for Gerard as well. :) Back to rereading the series.

Love all your books and so excited about ADAM!!! I am one of those many that was hoping it wasn't the end for the Nightwalker series and excited to here that Tristan is going to be getting his story one day. Thank you for updating us on everything :)
Now to answer your question I'm a dog person. Nothing against cats, just enjoy my time walking with my dog, playing with the ball, a cat would be like "you have got to be out of your mind if you think I'm going to do that" :)

I am more of a cat person than a dog person but I love all animals. I would love to read your books. Tore923@aol.com
Hi!
Very interesting interview, thanks for sharing!
I'm definitely a cat person... I don't like how dogs smell.

Better late then never!...I'm an animal person...as long as they stay outdoors! Allergies just kill me indoors.
